The week-long camp is designed to bring a better understanding of law enforcement and other community agencies to the youth who live in Allegheny County. Cadets spend the entire week at camp.
Some of the activities include a mock crime scene and a mock trial as well as demonstrations by the SWAT/SERT units and K-9 unit.
Allegheny County Camp Cadet is a non-profit, charitable organization that is funded by contributions from the community. For this reason, there is no charge to attend. Thank you for your generosity!

Camp Cadet is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organizations solely funded by donations. For this reason, there is no fee to attend camp.
Allegheny County Camp Cadet is a tuition free, week-long youth camp designed to give boys and girls ages 12-14, who reside in Allegheny County, a better understanding of law enforcement activities while living in an atmosphere similar to a policy training program. Emphasis is placed on improving selfdiscipline, building self-esteem and confidence through teamwork and making new friends. The camp program is staffed by local PA State Police, Allegheny County Police, Allegheny County Sheriff’s and local Municipal Police Officers who serve as counselors and instructors.
Camp is for any youth who reside in Allegheny County between the ages of 12 thru 14 and who are in good physical condition. Interested applicants need to submit and application and successfully pass and interview prior to being selected to attend. It is NOT a camp for TROUBLED YOUTH. Not to be mistaken as boot camp, camp is a mini version of a police academy. The day will consist of physical training, followed by a morning run. The cadets return to their quarters for person hygiene and prepare for inspection. During the day, various activities are scheduled including presentations by various agencies, a mock crime scene investigation, mock criminal trial and sporting events. Camp is held at Camp Guyasuta located in Sharpsburg.

forward to providing the youth of our county an opportunity to challenge themselves in a positive
environment and make new friends.
