Camp Cadet is a youth camp that was established in 2004. It is open to both boys and girls between the ages of 12 and
14. The week-long camp is designed to bring a better understanding of law enforcement and other community agencies to
the youth who live in Allegheny County. Cadets spend the entire week at camp. While at the camp, the cadets experience
numerous activities and events geared toward building self-esteem, self-discipline and new friendships.

Is there a fee?
A: Camp Cadet is a non-profit, charitable organization funded soley by donations.
For this reason, there is no fee to attend camp.
Q: What do Cadets do?
A: Some of the activities include a mock crime scene and a mock trial as well as demonstrations by the SWAT
/ SERT units and K-9 unit.
Q: How do I get involved?
A:
Any youth who resides in Allegheny County between the ages of 12 and 14 and in good physical condition is eligible.
Interested applicants need to submit and application and successfully pass an interview prior to being selected.

A: Camp is held at Camp Guyasuta in O'Hara
Township, PA - approximately 5 miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
Q: When is Camp Cadet?
A: Camp Cadet is usually held the last week of July.
